  While I agree with the Pope, we need to stop egoism and indifference, it needs to start with the church itself! The Pope was in Spain today talking about all of this. We see so much indifference in the Catholic Church. I feel that especially against gays and marginalized peoples. Even today we see it at church, priests are still insecure with gay couples, gays, or others who are not the norm at church. We see so many priests with so much ego, like the time of the Pharisees when Jesus was here on Earth, they act as if they are above others. They have inflated egos and are indifferent, especially to the gay people at church. They will not talk to them, they ignore, avoid, dismiss, and pretend even today they do not exist. I am not sure how the Catholic Church can get beyond this until they themselves acknowledge them, embrace them, and love them, and stop ignoring them as if they are not here in the church. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love. —Galatians 5:13 We are truly free when we live in Spirit and follow Jesus! Living like Him, reflecting, forgiving, imitating, and loving like Him! This life is not about living for the flesh, sex, materialism, things of this world. We need to live in Spirit for our life eternal in Heaven with Jesus, which is only possible when we follow Jesus! We should not use our freedom to indulge in sin and things of the flesh. Many humans do this and live this way, but God wants us to live for each other, serving others, loving others, and living in Spirit. Love does not have to be about sex and the flesh, we make this mistake as humans, both heterosexual and gays often make everything about sex and the flesh. We need to walk in Spirit as humans, not try to always to gratify the desires of the flesh!

As humans we live too much for this world and the flesh. We make all about sex and materialism. God wants us to live in Spirit. He wants us to follow Jesus. He wants us to reflect, forgive, imitate, and love like Jesus! Not make it all about sex and the flesh. Life is so much more than this! I recall going out as a younger person in my 20's and 30's and beyond, the gay culture and bars have magazines published weekly, it is all selling sex, with images of the flesh, parties, bars, places for sex, life is not all about sex, and sometimes gays undercut themselves in making it all about sex.
